Item
This is the name or description of the Timber Item.

Setup the item function by selecting 1 of the 4 options.

Default

This option sets up a standard default item.

  • You can manually select the Timber Type, Size, and enter quantities for this item.
  • You can send quantities from Plans into this item.
  • This item can be linked to from Cost Schedule Items to auto-fill the Timber Type, Size, and (QTY) quantity.
  • This item cannot be linked to or from other Items within the Timber List.

Sub Group Row

This adds a sub heading row to separate items within a Timber Group.

Send this Item's QTY to other Items

This sets up the Item function to send this items quantity to other items setup to receive it. This item will have no links setup. Other items can link to this item to use its quantity to calculate their wall components if they are setup with Receive this Item's QTY from other Items.

Receive this Item's QTY from other Items

This sets up the item function to receive another items quantities to calculate its wall components. It can only receive another items quantity if the item has been setup with Send this Item's QTY to other Items.

After clicking () Add Item Link, an item link row will be added for you to select the item to Receive Lm From. Then you will need to enter the required QTY / Lm allowance and the Supply Length. The Total Lm will only show for Item Link rows when the linked item has a quantity added.

Repeat this process to link other timber items if required.

Wall Frame Component

Add Item Link

This allows you to setup an Item link to receive a quantity from another wall length to calculate it's components.

Item Links can only be added if the item is setup as Receive this Item's QTY from other Items. Also, this item can only be linked to items that have Send this Items QTY to other Items selected. This feature is only used for calculating Wall Frame Component quantities (QTY's).

Linked Wall Frame Components auto calculate their quantity (QTY) from the wall length (Lm) entered items.

Wall Studs QTY / Lm

Studs @ 450mm Ctrs = 2.5 / Lm + Lintel & Junction Studs (See Wall Frame List to enter manually or send from Plans).

Studs @ 600mm Ctrs = 2.0 / Lm + Lintel & Junction Studs (See Wall Frame List to enter manually or send from Plans).

Note: Lintel & Junction Studs are entered separately so you can select a different timber size to the common wall studs and maintain a counting accuracy for short and long walls.

Top & Bottom Plate QTY / Lm

Wall Frame Length = 0.183 / Lm at 6.0m supply length.

Calculation 0.183 = (This decimal number is substituted into the equation to calculate the correct allowance).

Nogging QTY / Lm

Wall Frame 2400-2700mm High = 0.166 / Lm at 6.0m supply lengths (single row nogging = 0.166 x 1 = 0.166)

Wall Frame 3000-3900mm High = 0.332 / Lm at 6.0m supply lengths (double row nogging = 0.166 x 2 = 0.332)

Wall Frame 4200-5400mm High = 0.498 / Lm at 6.0m supply lengths (triple row nogging = 0.166 x 3 = 0.498)

Calculation 0.166 = (This decimal number is substituted into the equation to calculate the correct allowance).

Remove Item Link

This will remove the selected Item Link from this Item. Once removed, it cannot be undone.
