The Timber List allows you to enter quantities manually and setup Item links from the Cost Schedule and Plan Scan to send in. These Item links are setup to send quantities directly to specific items within a timber group e.g. Bearers, Decking, Floor Joists, Roof Frame, etc.
To use the Timber List, search the drop down list at the top of the view to select your Timber Group e.g. Floor Joists. Then select the timber Item within its Group, then select the Type of timber, then select its Size, then enter its QTY. After selecting your Timber Type and Size you should have a Rate appear for that timber item with a Total (inc. GST). If not, double click on the Rate field of that Item which will open the Timber List Settings window. The timbers Type and Size should already be selected for that Item but the Rate field will be empty. There are 2 possible reasons for this? Firstly, the Supplier selected for this timber Type doesn't have a rate for this item and secondly, you don't have a rate at all, no matter what supplier is selected. Firstly, try changing the suppliers price lists by selecting the drop down list beside the timber type group to see if another supplier price list has a Rate for this item. Secondly, if still no Rate? You will need to enter a Rate for this timber Item into the Price List Timber (tab). You can enter this Rate by a double click on the empty Rate field within the Timber List Settings window of that Item. This will automatically open the Price List Timber (Tab) with the Item pre-selected ready for you to enter your suppliers Rate. After you've entered its Rate, click OK, then you will be reversed back to the Timber List Settings window that should now have your suppliers Rate showing. (Be sure to enter the rate into the same supplier that is selected in the Timber List Settings window). Click OK in the Timber List Settings window and now you should be back at the Item on the Timber List with a Rate and Total (inc. GST) showing for this timber Item.
|Wall Frames||Select the Timber Type & Size for your wall frames before you start measuring up your quantities. After you have selected a Wall, Timber Type, Size and entered your QTY, be sure to scroll down the Wall Frame Group to the 'Wall Frame List' to see the Wall Frame Quantities, Rates & Total Cost. (This is not mandatory, but will make your quoting process faster).|
|Timber Lintels||Select the Timber Types and Sizes of your Window & Door Lintels before you start measuring up your quantities. (This is not mandatory, but will make your quoting process faster).|
|Timber List Total (Inc. GST)||You can toggle between including and Not Including the Timber List Total into the Contract Total. Go to the Cost Schedule Work Group called Timber Supply and un-tick the box next to the Timber List Item. This is commonly used when entering a suppliers quote into the Timber Supply Work Group rather than using the software Timber List Total.|
|Entering QTY (Quantities)||When entering (QTY) quantities, you can use the symbols @ or / to enter multiple quantity's. When entered as shown in the examples below, the @ or / symbols will act as a multiplication symbol.
E.g. 13/2.4, 7/3.6, 33/4.5, OR firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com
|Name||Use this field to enter your product Description / Name.|
|Timber Type||Use the drop down list to select your Timber Type. Please Note: The drop down list will only populate with the Timber Types allocated in Timber List Settings ► Allocate Timber Groups.|
|Size||Use the drop down list to select your Timber Size. Please Note: The drop down list will only populate with the item sizes setup in the Price List ► Timber List (Tab).|
|QTY||Use this field to enter your quantities. Feel free to enter bulk Qty amounts as follows: E.g. 13/2.4, 7/3.6, 33/4.5, OR firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com|
|Lm||This field will auto calculate the total Qty of (Lm) Lineal metres.|
|Rate (inc. GST)||This field should automatically show the Rate of the selected item. If it doesn't? Double click on the Rate field/cell. The Timber List Settings window will popup, in which you should first check the selected supplier for this Timber Type group. Click on the drop down list to change (if required). If no Rate appears, then double click on the same Item in this Timber List Settings window and the Price List window should pop up with the item pre-selected for you to add or edits it's rate. Be sure to check the Suppliers name is correct in the Price List before changing its Rate. After changing its rate then click OK and it will auto reverse your steps.|
|Total (Inc. GST)||This field will show the total for this Timber Item.|
|Notes||This notes column is job specific and will not be kept as part of the Template when stating a New Quote. The notes are unable to be printed or reported.|
|New Group||This button will allow you to create a New Group in the Timber List.|
|Delete Group||This button allows you to Delete existing Groups in the Timber List.|
(Move Groups Up / Down)
|These arrow buttons allow you to re-order Groups in the Timber List.|
|Order||This button gives you the option to either raise a Purchase Order or a Quote Request. Please note that Purchase Orders and Quote Requests can only include items added to the Job. Be sure to Lock your Contract Total before raising orders. This will allow you to add or edit Items (on the fly) without it effecting the Contract Total and Progress Payments.

|Wall Frame (Materials)||To workout your Wall Frame quantities, go to the Timber List and find your Frame type in one of the Wall Frames Groups. Then select your Timber Type and Size, then enter your (Qty) quantity (Important: you must fill this out otherwise the Rate will not show in the Wall Frame List to price the Walls.). Please note, your timber quantities will appear in the Wall Frame List at the bottom of the Wall Frame Group. Once the Wall Frame List is populated it should be showing you a Rate for each timber component of the wall. Also note that it is compulsory to manually enter|
|Wall Frames |
|Carpentry Labour to install wall frames is found in the Cost Schedule in the Work Group named Carpentry - Wall Frames. In the Carpentry - Wall Frames Work Group their are many different way to allow Carpentry Labour. Thier are m2 rates and Lm Rates for you to choose from.|
|Plan Scan ► Send QTY ►||Before measuring your Wall Frames in Plan Scan, check the Item links of the Item you'll be using, that it has been setup to include all the components needed. Then start measuring up your Wall Frame. Once you have your QTY completed, then click the Send QTY button, which will send your QTY into the pre-linked fields from your Item setup.
